The process begins with the shot you just hit, which immediately eliminates physically impossible or high-risk returns for the opponent. If you hit a lob to a specific side, you restrict their ability to play aggressive shots like a vibora or a drop shot.
Next, observe the opponent's body movement as they approach the ball. A player forced to run back or reaching for a ball with poor body positioning has limited options, often resulting in a defensive scoop rather than an attacking backhand bajada. Finally, analyze the arm and racket position during the take-back. A racket head dropping below the ball indicates a high probability of a lob, allowing you to split-step and prepare for a bandeja early. Consistent practice involves watching match footage, pausing before contact, and predicting the outcome based on these visual cues.
